Jewish community Chabad Lubavitch Moldova

TV cameramen and journalists from Germany were guests in the office of the Chief Rabbinate of Moldova this week. The interviewee pointed out the irony of having them as his guests, reporting about Jewish affairs, considering their nation’s intention not 70 years ago.

A camera crew from a German television company arrived at the office of Moldova’s Chief Rabbi Zalman Abelsky.

Rabbi Abelsky’s office, located on Chabad-Lubavitch Street in Kishinev, Moldova’s capital, was transformed into a makeshift studio. A thorough interview was conducted by a journalist who accompanied the crew.

Admiring their interest in the welfare of Jewish communities all over the continent, Rabbi Abelsky noted that this was a sure sign of the pending redemption of the world.

“A nation that less than a century ago waged a war against the Jewish nation, and indeed attempted to completely annihilate her, is now curiously seeking to learn more about Judaism,” he said.

“When we were once being shot down by the Germans, they now travel as far as Moldova to report about and be inspired from the growth of the Jewish communities across a continent from where they once attempted to obliterate her.”

In the interview, Rabbi Abelsky gave an overview on the Chabad-run institutions in the country.

He concluded by saying that his country is ready and waiting for the speedy revelation of Moshiach.
